A special programme was held...............

A special programme was held for the 1 st January, being the first working day of year 2014, with the participation of the museum staff, emphasizing the necessity of including an attitudinal change in all public servants for committing to work together for a social and economic development while consolidating national unity for the future generation.

In the presence of all museum staff, the Director of National Museums hoisted the National Flag and after that sang the National Anthem. After that observed two minutes silence to commemorate the war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the motherland and read aloud the Oath of Public Servants.

Finally the Director of National Museums, Mrs Sanuja Kasthuriarachchi delivered a brief speech and planted a tree at the museum premises.
