The President handed over Kasthana Sword ......

The occasion of ceremonially handing over the historic Kasthana Sword gifted to the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena by the president of the Russian Federation His Excellency Vladmir Putin to the Department of National Museums under the patronage of His Excellency the President on 2^nd August 2017 at 11.30 a.m.  at the Auditorium of Department of National Museums, Colombo 7.

Hon. S. B. Navinne, Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs and Hon. Palith Thewarapperuma, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs, Hon. S. B. Dissanayaka, Hon. Akila Viraj kariyawasam, Hon. Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, Hon. Karunarathna Paranavithana, the Secretary to the Ministry Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs Mr. D. Swarnapala, and other guests were also participated & graced this ceremonial occasion.

The Director, Department of National Museums noticed that this Kasthana Sword has been displayed in the Colombo National Museum from today to the public.
